The NHL announced the rosters on Wednesday a week after closing the fan vote and revealing the captains for each team. The format is changing this year, with players split up into four teams by division in a 3-on-3 tournament. Patrick Kane, Jaromir Jagr, Alex Ovechkin and John Scott will serve as captains when the game begins on Jan. 31 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
As expected, host city Nashville is the most represented team with three players heading to the All-Star Game. The four head coaches this year are determined by the teams leading the divisions at the time of the announcement, so Lindy Ruff of the Dallas Stars (Central Division), Barry Trotz of the Washington Capitals (Metropolitan Division), Darryl Sutter of the Los Angeles Kings (Pacific Division) and Gerard Gallant of the Florida Panthers (Atlantic Division) will man the benches.
