Erik Karlsson blocked a shot and immediately led a 2-on-1 rush for a goal

This guy is good.

What Erik Karlsson did on Saturday probably qualifies him as the best defenseman in the NHL.

The Ottawa Senators' captain was the sole reason for his team's first goal against the Boston Bruins with an incredible two-way sequence. Boston fired a shot in their own defensive zone that Karlsson blocked. Then, Karlsson was suddenly off and skating up ice leading a 2-on-1 rush.

All he had to do was make the perfect pass.

And that was that. If you can pull off a blocked shot and an incredible assist within seconds of each other, congrats, here’s your Norris Trophy.
