Bo Horvat spins defender backwards with pretty deke to set up Canucks goal

Vancouver got on the board in style.

Bo Horvat has looked like he belonged in the NHL the moment he joined the Vancouver Canucks in late 2014 as a rookie. And if anyone had lingering doubts about that, he helped erase them Saturday.

Fresh off a two-goal night against Carolina three days ago, Horvat dazzled yet again when given the chance against the Tampa Bay Lightning. When Lightning forward Alex Killorn took a penalty, Canucks coach Willie Desjardins gave Horvat a shot on the power play.

And boy, did he deliver.

That assist was just Horvat’s 17th point in 41 games, but it’s another glimpse of the player who once scored 30 goals in his final year in the OHL. And the underwhelming Canucks can use plays like that any day.
