The Stars and Oilers weren’t even playing each other Monday night, yet the fists were flying on Twitter.
The Stars had the perfect comeback to end a Twitter feud with the Oilers
You’re not winning this one, Edmonton.

It all started with a simple tweet by the Stars celebrating a good goal from Jamie Oleksiak. Harmless, by all accounts.
GOAL!!! Big Rig scores his first goal of the season and the #Stars lead 1-0! #MINvsDAL pic.twitter.com/dAYcK1AvuK

Except apparently to the Oilers, who also have a player on their team nicknamed Big Rig. (It’s Patrick Maroon, for those like me who didn’t know.)
So of course they replied. Gotta stick up for the team.
@DallasStars Another Rig that is Big? pic.twitter.com/ecOH2uQJsg

The Stars, unaffected by the sudden intrusion into their celebrations, issued a challenge accompanied by a wonderful Photoshop job.
.@EdmontonOilers your Big Rig vs. our Big Rig pic.twitter.com/hPOQr3P8Q2

To which Edmonton fired back at Dallas the score of their most recent tilt, a 5-2 victory in which Connor McDavid posted his first hat trick. That’s big, and McDavid is currently leading the NHL in scoring, so point Oilers.
Yet they made a fatal mistake.

The Stars delivered the final blow with some well-delivered shade worthy of the Hall of Twitter Burns that I just made up for this piece.
@EdmontonOilers hey...y'all is our thing. you guys stick to those #1 draft picks.

Just take the L, Oilers. You’re not coming back from that.
