Sidney Crosby can score from anywhere, even behind the net

The Penguins’ captain is something else.

Sidney Crosby is on a tear this season. After being named MVP of the World Cup of Hockey, Crosby had 22 points in 17 games coming into a Thursday night tilt against Dallas. The Penguins captain is even on pace for a 50-plus-goal season.

A big reason for that? That magic Crosby seems to possess every time he’s on the ice is on his side once again.

Take, for example, this latest goal in the dying seconds of the second period.

Crosby took a shot from a bad angle behind the net and turned it into a goal. When his first shot on Antti Niemi was denied, Crosby casually batted the puck out of midair and off of the Stars’ netminder for the 3-2 lead.

But hey, at least we’re not alone in our awe of Crosby’s wizardry.
