In a strange reversal of fate, it was Montreal putting the heat on another team. But you’re not here to read me opine on these goals are you? Let’s get down to them.
Brian Flynn got the party started after putting home a rebound off of Daniel Carr’s behind-the-net chance.
Montreal then poured it on with four rapid goals in less than four minutes.
The Canadiens’ captain netted his second just moments after Colorado goaltender Calvin Pickard got pulled and Semyon Varlamov took his place in goal.
Five goals were scored in the first TEN minutes of this game. Those poor souls stuck in traffic were probably so confused getting into their seats.
Flynn’s second of the night — and second of the season — capped off the six goal first period run for Montreal.
