The 30-year-old forward has 48 points in 63 games with the Bruins and will make an immediate impact on any team he gets moved to, should Boston find a suitable trading partner.
That might be a bit harder right now thanks to the high asking price of a top player and prospect, but as the day goes on, teams could become more desperate to pick up a viable scoring forward should the market grow thin.
If Boston can hold out and get a high return for Eriksson, they could end up with one of the biggest deals on deadline day on what has amounted to a slow few hours so far.
