If an opposing player happens to be in the way, he gets to join in. Apparently.
Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux added that new wrinkle on Thursday when he scored to put his team up 4-1 on the Nashville Predators in the second period. As the Flyers circled up for the hug, Predators rookie Viktor Arvidsson got in the way.
Naturally, Giroux tried to hug him too!
That’s the hockey version of a teenager squirming away from his mom’s embrace because his friends would make fun of him.
