The reappearance of their deadly power play led the San Jose Sharks to a dominant 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues in Game 2 of the Western Conference Final.
Sharks vs. Blues 2016 final score: Brent Burns carries San Jose to pivotal Game 2 win in St. Louis
San Jose’s power play is cooking again.

Game 3 is on Thursday in San Jose, with the series now tied 1-1.
Brent Burns led the way with two goals on the power play, and Martin Jones earned his first career playoff shutout with 26 saves. The Blues went 0-for-6 on the man advantage in the game.
The Sharks' fourth line gave them early momentum in Game 2. Tommy Wingels, Dainius Zubrus and Justin Braun combined on a cycle play to find Wingels in the slot for his second goal of the playoffs and a 1-0 Sharks lead. The play was almost offsides, but the Blues learned from a lost challenge in Game 1 and let the play stand.
Both sides failed to capitalize on power plays in the first period, but San Jose finally broke through in the second period. Troy Brouwer and Steve Ott both took unnecessary penalties behind the play, but it was Brouwer's time in the box and a broken stick for Alex Steen that let Burns score his fifth goal of the playoffs and stake San Jose to a 2-0 lead.
Brouwer had a great chance in the third period to get on the board, but it rang off the post and out. He then got caught again with a penalty, and Burns made his team pay with his second power play goal of the night. Zubrus scored with the Blues net empty in the final minute, and San Jose evened the series with a 4-0 win in Game 2.
