Troy Brouwer has the makings of a great baseball player after batting in a goal for the Blues

Hey batter, batter.

If the St. Louis Cardinals ever need a cleanup batter, they can always call Troy Brouwer.

We’ve seen our fair share of baseball goals this season, but Brouwer’s takes the cake for sheer awesomeness.

Seriously, look at how smooth that is. Brouwer times it just right so that the blade of his stick is below the crossbar, and it bounces right in the blue paint over the leg of Sharks goaltender Martin Jones.

Sure he may have been swinging at a knee-high rebound -- which would never fly in baseball -- but the goal gave the Blues a 2-1 lead over the Sharks in a key spot in the first period.
