Scouting the Blues
The Blues are going back to goalie Brian Elliott for Game 6 after Jake Allen was roughed up for four goals in Game 5. Elliott has been solid in elimination games so far this spring so coach Ken Hitchock is making a safe gamble. They need a great game out of Vladimir Tarasenko, who has been quiet offensively ever since the Blues played the Dallas Stars in the second round.
Scouting the Sharks
Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau and many of the other veteran Sharks players will take a huge step with a win in Game 7 after years of playoff disappointments. San Jose has played in more playoff series than most of the rest of the NHL since 2003 but has yet to reach the Stanley Cup Final in that span. They'll lean on captain Joe Pavelski, as ever; Pavelski leads the NHL playoffs with 21 points and 12 goals in 17 playoff games.
