The Minnesota Wild were mere seconds way from a loss on Saturday night. Thanks to Mikko Koivu, however, the Wild were able to come away with points after scoring a goal with 0.2 seconds to play in regulation.
Minnesota Wild send game to overtime thanks to goal with 0.2 seconds left
Mikko Koivu had the literal last second goal in a thriller of a play.

With the goaltender pulled against the Carolina Hurricanes in the final moments of regulation, Koivu was able to bang home a rebound past a diving Scott Darling in net.
The play was called a goal on the ice thanks to the eagle eyes of the official behind the net. The referees in the game did take a look at the goal after the fact to see if Darling was interfered with in his crease.
While there was congestion in the blue paint for Darling, the officials agreed that it was not enough to stop him from making the save.
The goal did only delay the inevitable for the Wild, however, as Minnesota lost to Carolina in the ensuing shootout.
