In hockey, Wiener Dog Races are more common than you think. Seriously, it seems almost every AHL team has a dog race during the season, to our benefit and to the amusement of sports audiences everywhere.
This AHL team had a good hockey dog race on ice and we are all winners
What a bunch of good dogs.

On Friday, the Rockford IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks AHL affiliate, put together a wonderful Wiener Dog Race for your viewing pleasure on their Pucks and Paws night. Wiener dogs of all shapes and sizes participated in the mid-game showing, a good distraction from the team’s 6-0 loss to San Antonio.
While most of the competition checked out early, the race ultimately belonged to previous Wiener Dog Race winner, Darby!
Darby clearly has got the legs of a Wiener Dog Race champion, but more importantly, they’ve got the leaps too. And in a Superman costume no doubt!
All Wiener Dog Race dogs are good dogs, and as they enjoy their races on the ice, us sports fans will continue to eat up all of this good dog content.
