No one is having a day worse than this ice crew member who was nearly pelted with hockey pucks

These players should have Czeched before shooting at this net.

There’s having a bad day at work, and then there’s what this poor ice crew member had to deal with.

On the third day of the World Junior Championship tournament, Czech Republic and Sweden were set to play each other in a mid-afternoon matchup. Normally in most hockey games, the ice crew and hockey players usually stay out of one another’s way as each side does their job.

However, this ice crew member got a scare of a lifetime as he was in net for warmups and found himself an accidental target.

How the Czech players didn’t see him in the net is a mystery, but he barely dodged the few shots that came his way. Even worse, as he was leaving, he was hit in the shoulder by an errant puck in the Swedish zone!

That’s quite a scary few moments for an unprotected person on the ice. Had a puck connected with his head or face, it could have done some serious damage. Thankfully, the few Czech players that nearly nailed him with pucks apologized for the accident.

Glad to see he made it off the ice in one piece!
