NHL playoff standings 2017: Maple Leafs still fending off Lightning in the wild card

But it’s getting closer.

This could be the last dance for the Islanders and the last chance for the Maple Leafs to hold off the surging Lightning.

New York needs to get two points from the Devils on Saturday to keep their playoff hopes alive for one more day. If they don’t, they’re done.

And after Tampa Bay’s win in Montreal on Friday, the Leafs are just one point ahead of the Lightning in the race for the East’s final wild card berth.
