It came down to the wire, but the Ducks joined the ranks of NHL division winners once again.
Final NHL standings 2017: Ducks win Pacific Division with late comeback in Los Angeles
Familiar names crown the NHL’s divisions this year.

Anaheim needed to squeeze at least one point out of the Los Angles Kings on Sunday evening. Otherwise, the Edmonton Oilers would complete their out-of-nowhere (OK, out of Connor McDavid) season and claim the Pacific Division for themselves. And L.A. gave the Ducks a run for their money.
But Anaheim closed the Pacific out, and closed out the final division standings for the 2016-17 season. The Ducks, Canadiens, Blackhawks, and Capitals are your division champions. The Capitals walk away with the Presidents’ Trophy another year with a league-leading 118 points. And the Colorado Avalanche walk away with ... well, a lot to think about after finishing with a league-worst 48 points.
The Avs are all but guaranteed to win the NHL draft lottery in a few weeks.
In the meantime, attention turns to the Stanley Cup playoffs.
