The 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs will kick off on Wednesday with an Original Six matchup. Hockey purists across our great continent just put their hands over their hearts, raised their heads to the heavens, closed their eyes, and sighed deeply.

What a time to be alive.

In all seriousness, this should be a fun series. The Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers are speedy teams capable of offensive fireworks, even if the Habs desperately tried to bulk up at the trade deadline.

Toss in two elite goaltenders like Montreal’s Carey Price and New York’s Henrik Lundqvist, and some of the best moments of the first round could come from these two clubs.

So while you read about how to watch this thing, we’re going to go line up over there next to those hockey purists and bask in the lovely hockey sunlight. Be right back.

Game 1: NY Rangers at Montreal Canadiens
