We’ve lost control of the robot.

It’s a tradition of ours to include a friendly robot companion named cfbot to any of our predictions posts. With the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs starting on Wednesday night, we compiled a group of our hockey bloggers from around the network to tell you what will happen in the playoffs.

Many of them were reasonable. Some were surprising! But none of them had anything on the robot’s predictions.

Read on to find out why. You’ll find our first-round predictions, our Conn Smythe predictions, and full brackets for each of our panelists.

Our panel

  • Pat Iversen, SB Nation NHL writer/editor
  • Mary Clarke, SB Nation NHL writer/editor
  • Travis Hughes, SB Nation NHL editor
  • Mike Darnay, SB Nation NHL contributor & Pensburgh writer
  • Sarah Hall, managing editor for Five For Howling
  • Achariya, managing editor for Raw Charge
  • Eric Seeds, writer for Jackets Cannon
  • Kyle Keller, analytics whiz for Vox Media
  • cfbot, a s***-starting robot
