The Ottawa Senators got to see a familiar face on Tuesday when veteran forward Clarke MacArthur finally returned to the ice.
Senators veteran gets emotional after returning from concussion
It’s been a long road for Clarke MacArthur.

The 31-year-old forward hadn’t played since October of 2015, when he took a hit from the Columbus Blue Jackets and suffered a concussion. MacArthur got another concussion during training camp this fall when his own teammate leveled him with a hit during a scrimmage.
That was his fourth concussion in 18 months, and many wondered if MacArthur’s career was over.
Not so. MacArthur finally returned in the Senators win over Detroit on Tuesday and got choked up when speaking to reporters during postgame:
“To get the chance to play again, it’s a great feeling,” MacArthur said. “It’s been two years of never knowing if you are going to get back or what’s going to happen, so, just happy to be back playing.”
Good for him. And just in time for a playoff run.
