Bufalo Sabres winger Kyle Okposo has been released from a Buffalo hospital, according to a report from WIVB News.
Sabres’ Kyle Okposo reportedly released from hospital
Okposo spent the week in intensive care.

This follows an earlier report from the Associated Press on Friday that Okposo was showing signs of improvement following a week in the neurosurgical intensive care unit at Buffalo General Hospital. Okposo has not played for the Sabres since he complained of an illness before Buffalo’s game in Columbus on March 28.
There’s no word on what illness Okposo is suffering from.
The Sabres themselves haven’t commented on his release and have kept mum on his status since Wednesday, when they gave this statement to NBC Sports:
“Kyle continues to be under the care of our doctors as he deals with symptoms from an illness. Out of respect to Kyle and his family, we will have no further comment at this time.”
We’ll update this post as more information arrives, but with multiple reports indicating a change for the better in his condition, this is good news for those worried about Okposo’s condition.
Okposo, 28, signed a long-term deal as a free agent with Buffalo last offseason.
