Vegas released a behind-the-scenes video of the historic moment.
Vegas has dropped videos this week following general manager George McPhee around as he prepares for Wednesday evening’s expansion draft. McPhee and his team needed to submit their list of expansion selections to the NHL by 10 a.m. ET.
Naturally, the Knights captured this moment on video and released it. It’s pretty great.
A moment like that could’ve easily come off as overdramatic or fallen flat, but you can really tell how proud McPhee is to have reached this moment. Even the comments about this being the largest transaction in NHL history and “an entire year of an incredible amount of work comes down to one click” don’t sound hokey.
Vegas’ people know how momentous this is, because they’ve lived it. And it means something.
A really cool video for a really cool moment. Vegas might be a great addition. Their roster will be revealed at the NHL Awards on Wednesday night.
