Welcome to the NHL, Golden Knights! On Sunday, the NHL’s 31st team took to the ice for their first official preseason game against the Vancouver Canucks.
The Golden Knights’ first official preseason goal was quite a doozy
Tyler Wong made history for Vegas, and what a goal it was.

Vegas has held practices before, but the team really hasn’t felt real until just now when actual Golden Knights players are playing actual hockey. The team didn’t take too long in establishing themselves either, as Tyler Wong got the Golden Knights’ first preseason tally in team history five minutes into their game against the Canucks.
Wong received a nice backhand pass from Cody Glass — Vegas’ sixth overall pick from the 2017 NHL draft — before putting the works on Richard Bachman in net with an over-the-shoulder finish.
The goal was the first of three for Wong, who had a hat trick with the Golden Knights in their 9-4 victory in Vancouver.
Not a bad tone to set in their first preseason game at the NHL level. Nice to have you here, Vegas.
