The 2018 NHL Skills Competition goes down Saturday night at Amalie Arena in Tampa. The top players in the league will participate in six different events, including the classic Fastest Skater and Hardest Shot competitions.

Participants for all the events were announced by the league in the afternoon. The NHL may have had trouble finding anyone who wanted to test their speed against Connor McDavid, but Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon will be among seven skaters to challenge his title.

A big difference this year is that the league has bailed on the team structure. Each individual event will award $25,000 to the winner, and that’s that.

There are two new events this year: Passing Challenge and Save Streak. They’re replacing the Breakaway Challenge, Shootout, and Four Line Challenge events. Additionally, the Skills Challenge Relay has been tweaked and is now called the Puck Control Relay.

Here’s a look at who will be competing in each of the events in the 2018 NHL Skills Competition.
