Since starting the season off a pedestrian 6-4 SU and 3-5 ATS, the No. 21 Michigan Wolverines have picked up momentum with a 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS run.
Michigan Wolverines vs Iowa Hawkeyes, college basketball betting odds preview
Big Ten basketball betting resumes with a major Michigan vs Iowa battle. The odds favor the surging Wolverines over the Hawkeyes.

They face a tough test on Wednesday with the No. 10 Iowa Hawkeyes coming to town. Michigan opened as a small favorite of -1.5 on college basketball betting lines for Wednesday’s game.
With the exception of a home loss to Charlotte back in November as a 10-point favorite, Michigan’s losses this year have been pretty forgivable. The Wolverines lost on the road to two strong teams in Iowa State and Duke, and lost a close one at home to Arizona in December, a team that has established itself as the best squad in the country.
Over the seven-game winning streak, Michigan has picked up impressive road wins over Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The line was moving by midday to 2.5 points according to the college basketball odds menu at OddsShark.com.
The Iowa Hawkeyes have been consistently strong all season, putting together a 14-3 SU and 10-5 ATS record with a statement win earlier this month on the road against Ohio State. Like Michigan, Iowa has only lost to quality teams with the three losses coming at home against Villanova and on the road against Iowa State and Wisconsin.
The Hawkeyes are 7-1 ATS over their last eight games with a point spread and 3-0 SU over their last three games.
If recent trends are any indication, there could be plenty of offense in this Big Ten matchup. The total has gone OVER in each of Michigan’s last three games and in nine of Iowa’s last 10 games. The total has also gone OVER in three of the last four games between Michigan and Iowa.
In seven meetings since the start of the 2009-10 season, Michigan has dominated Iowa SU with a 6-1 record while holding a slight edge ATS at 4-3. The Wolverines are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five home games against the Hawkeyes.
This game will serve as a major statement game for whichever team comes out on top. Another road win over a quality opponent would solidify Iowa’s status as a contender, while an eighth straight win for Michigan would put the slow start to the season firmly in the past.
