Cardinals vs. Rams: Betting odds, spread, preview, and ‘Thursday Night Football’ prediction

The St. Louis Rams host the Arizona Cardinals this Thursday night looking for a third straight shutout on defense.

The St. Louis Rams are 5-1 ATS over their last six games overall and 6-3 ATS in their last nine games at home. The Rams will be going for a third straight win this Thursday night when they host the Arizona Cardinals.

St. Louis is a 4-point favorite on the Week 15 NFL betting lines. With the confidence that the Rams are playing with on both sides of the ball right now, St. Louis should be able to pick up the win and cover (despite what the computer thinks) against Arizona Thursday.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Arizona 22.4, St. Louis 23.7

With the way that St. Louis has played over its last four games, it is hard to believe that the Rams went just 3-6 SU and ATS over their previous nine games. Since benching Austin Davis in favor of Shaun Hill, the Rams are 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS. St. Louis picked up a shocking 22-7 win at home over Denver as an 8-point underdog, and in its last two games has outscored opponents 76-0 in back-to-back shutouts of the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins. The Rams are 6-2-1 ATS over their last nine divisional home games in December.

The Cardinals visit St. Louis at 8:25 p.m. ET Thursday night at the Edward Jones Dome.

Arizona ended a two-game losing streak with a 17-14 home upset over the Kansas City Chiefs last week, improving to 10-3 SU and 9-4 ATS on the season. Since Carson Palmer went down with a season-ending injury in a 31-14 win over St. Louis, the Cardinals are averaging just 12.3 points per game. Arizona's struggling offense faces a daunting test Thursday against St. Louis' red-hot defense. The Cardinals are 2-10 SU in their last 12 divisional road games.

The UNDER is 9-4 over the last 13 meetings between Arizona and St. Louis. Thursday night's total is set at 39.5 points at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Both of these teams have excellent defenses that should make scoring hard to come by in this matchup. But with St. Louis playing better on offense and having home field advantage in this one, the Rams look like a good play as a 4-point home favorite.
