Cowboys vs. Bears: Betting odds, spread, preview and prediction for ‘Thursday Night Football’

The Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears will try to bounce back from Thanksgiving Day losses Thursday night in Chicago.

The Chicago Bears are just 1-7 SU and ATS over their last eight games as a home underdog and 0-5 SU and ATS over their last five. Chicago will try to put up more of a fight Thursday night as a home underdog hosting the Dallas Cowboys.

Chicago is going off at +3.5 at home, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. The Bears' struggles against good offenses and as a home underdog point to Dallas as a solid pick to win and cover on the road.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Dallas 27.2, Chicago 15.9

Entering their Thanksgiving matchup against the Detroit Lions, the Bears had won two straight 21-13 games against Minnesota and Tampa Bay. But back at it against a capable offense on the road against the Lions, Chicago had no answer for Calvin Johnson in a 34-17 loss.

In giving up 51 to New England, 55 to Green Bay and 34 to Detroit, the defense hasn't shown that it can stop good offenses, and the offense hasn't been able to hang with them either. Chicago is 3-0 SU and ATS in its last three games against Dallas.

Dallas visits the Bears at Soldier Field on Thursday night at 8:25 p.m. ET.

Coming off a 33-10 Thanksgiving loss to Philadelphia, the Cowboys have lost some of their luster of late. Since going 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS over their previous six games, Dallas is just 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS over its last five games, with the one cover coming against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. At 8-4 SU, Dallas is still in good position to make the playoffs, but the Cowboys can't afford too many more losses in the crowded NFC. Dallas is 9-3 SU in its last 12 games as a road favorite.

The OVER is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams, according to the OddsShark NFL Database. Thursday night's total is set at 51 points at the sportsbooks.

Dallas' recent form doesn't make it the biggest slam dunk of a pick as a road favorite. But going against Chicago's defense and a shaky Jay Cutler, Dallas should come out on top as a 3.5-point favorite.
