The call once again went out for the most scintillating sky walkers in the league, and this year, at least some came running.
NBA All Star Betting: Slam Dunk Odds Favor Paul George
Paul George will be your NBA Slam Dunk champ if oddsmakers are correct.

A six-pack of the league’s best posterizers congregate in New Orleans this weekend for the annual air show that is the NBA dunk contest, part of the 2014 All-Star weekend festivities at the Smoothie King Center.
For this year’s contest the league has tweaked the format; instead of competing as individuals, Saturday’s six contestants will dunk for the East and West teams, and will win or lose the contest as a team.
When it’s all over, the fans will vote for their choice of Dunker of the Night.
And like any good sportsbook would do for such an event Bovada offered up NBA All Star Game betting odds on who will win that coveted award Saturday night.
Here’s a quick look at the field for the dunk contest (with all NBA All Star Game odds and props listed here).
Based in large part upon his recent aeronautical exploits Indiana’s Paul George tops the betting at 23/20 to be voted Dunker of the Night.
Defending dunk contest champion Terrence Ross from Toronto is the next choice on Bovada’s Dunker board at 7/2.
Washington Wizard John Wall, who shoots right-handed but seems to prefer throwing it down in left-handed fashion, comes next at 9/2.
Sacramento rookie Ben McLemore and last year’s NBA Rookie of the Year, Portland’s Damian Lillard, follow at 5/1.
And Golden State’s Harrison Barnes, who might be the wild-card in this competition, rounds out the board at odds of 17/2.
Lillard will take part in five events this All-Star weekend, including the Rising Stars Challenge Friday night, two other events Saturday and the game on Sunday.
And if little guys hold any sentimental sway in a dunk contest judged by fans, Lillard might be their man, coming in as the shortest dunker in the field at 6-3.
