Cowboys vs. Washington 2015 odds: Washington betting favorite vs Dallas for MNF

The Washington Redskins will look to strengthen their hold on first place in the NFC East on Monday with a win at home over the Dallas Cowboys.

Washington is 5-0 straight up and 4-1 against the spread in their last five games at home. Washington will try to pick up a sixth straight home win this Monday night when they host the Dallas Cowboys.

Washington is a 4-point home betting favorite at FedExField according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This is just the second time this season that Washington has been a betting favorite, beating Tampa Bay but failing to cover the spread as a 3-point favorite in the other instance back in October.

With a 5-6 SU and ATS record on the season, Washington doesn’t have the look of a conventional division leader. But in the still wide open NFC East, that record is good enough for first place coming off a 20-14 home upset over the New York Giants last Sunday.

Washington ranks 20th in the NFL in scoring defense and 21st in scoring, but the team has made the most of it so far with a 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS record at home.

Washington is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against the Cowboys but are just 4-6 SU against them over that stretch. The betting favorite is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 games between these two rivals per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Tony Romo’s return in a 24-14 win over the Miami Dolphins appeared to be a change in momentum for the Dallas Cowboys. But on Thanksgiving Day, the Cowboys were dominated by Carolina in a 33-14 loss, and they also lost Tony Romo for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

Dallas is 10-4 SU and ATS in its last 14 games on the road, but is just 1-8 SU and 2-7 ATS over its last nine games overall.

Monday night’s total is set at 42 points. The UNDER is 4-1 in the last five games between Washington and Dallas.

Despite Dallas’ recent struggles on offense without Romo, the team has looked very good on defense in recent weeks. Getting four points in a division rivalry game on Monday night, look for the Cowboys to keep it close and pick up a cover on the road.
