UFC Fight Night, MacDonald vs. Thompson odds: Wonderboy slight favorite on MMA card

Stephen Thompson has won each of his last six fights since picking up his first loss as a professional back in 2012. Thompson will square off against Rory MacDonald in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 89 in Ottawa.

The welterweight Thompson is currently going off as a slight favorite at -125 to win this bout at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. With his first round knockout of former champion Johny Hendricks in his last fight, Thompson made a strong statement on how far he’s come in the welterweight division. A light heavyweight bout between Steve Bosse (-155) and Sean O’Connell (+125) pits two brawlers against one another. Bosse is 11-2 as a professional and 1-1 in the UFC, and nine of his 11 wins have come by knockout.

While he may be the harder hitter in this fight, O’Connell also has nine knockouts over his 17-7 career and is a slightly more polished fighter. This slugfest should end in a knockout one way or another as both will come out swinging from the start.
