UFC 202, McGregor vs. Diaz 2 odds: McGregor seeks redemption as the odds favorite vs Diaz

The highly anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz headlines the UFC 202 card, with McGregor the small betting favorite.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Conor McGregor is 15-1 over his last 16 professional fights, with that one loss coming at UFC 196 against Nate Diaz. The Irish superstar will try to avenge that loss this Saturday in Las Vegas in a rematch against Diaz at UFC 202.

McGregor is a minus-130 favorite for Saturday’s main event at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

With seven straight wins including a 13-second knockout win over Jose Aldo, McGregor surged to superstardom in the UFC in just a couple of years. But that surge hit a surprising road block when McGregor went up two weight classes to fight Diaz on short notice at UFC 196, suffering his first professional loss since 2010 in that fight.

For McGregor, who this time around has had plenty of time to prepare, this fight will serve as a shot at redemption. But it will also be an important fight for Diaz, who took offense to the narrative that his win was a fluke after the fact.

The 31-year-old is just 19-10 over the course of his professional career, but another win over McGregor would drastically improve his stock while likely causing his opponent’s to fall. Diaz is going off at plus-100 to defeat McGregor again.

Leading into the main event, Anthony Johnson is a minus-200 favorite squaring off against Glover Teixeira (plus-160) on the UFC 202 betting lines in what should be a thrilling light heavyweight bout.

Johnson has won 11 of his last 12 fights with eight of those 11 wins coming by way of knockout. Teixeira has won each of his last three fights with both of the last two ending in a knockout. Both of these fighters will come out swinging, and this doesn’t figure to be a fight that will go to the cards.

Other big fights on the card include Donald Cerrone (minus-165) vs. Rick Story (plus-135), Sabah Homasi (plus-325) vs. Tim Means (minus-450), Cody Garbrandt (minus-550) vs. Takeya Mizugaki (plus-375), and Elizabeth Phillips (plus-205) vs. Raquel Pennington (minus-265).

With a perfect 9-0 record as a professional with eight knockouts including a 4-0 record in the UFC, Cody Garbrandt is a rising star in the bantamweight division.
