The NFC has won the coin toss 17 times out of the last 19 Super Bowls. The Atlanta Falcons hope that this trend continues in Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots.
Super Bowl 2017 prop bets: Sportsbooks release early slate of specials for NFL championship
Bettors will have plenty of Super Bowl LI props to wager on February 5, from the coin toss to the national anthem to the halftime show to the Gatorade shower.

Both “Heads” and “Tails” are going off at -105 to land on the opening coin toss at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Each of the last three Super Bowl coin flips have landed on tails, bringing the total on tails flips to 12 over the last 19 Super Bowl matchups. Tallying up the coin flip’s all-time history, tails holds a slight edge over heads at 26 to 24.
Before the coin flip, props bettors will be rooting on their wagers in the singing of the national anthem, which is being performed by country singer Luke Bryan this year. The average length of the last 11 national anthems has been only one minute and 58 seconds, but this year’s line is set at 2:15 with both the OVER and the UNDER going off at -120.
Bryan is a -200 favorite to be wearing blue jeans when he sings the national anthem (+150 to be wearing any other pants or shorts) and a -700 favorite to not forget or omit any words (+400 to do so).
Lady Gaga has announced that she will perform her halftime show alone at Super Bowl LI. But will there be any surprise guests? A solo performance is going off at -140, but bettors looking to take a stab on a longshot can bet on other performers making an appearance including Kendrick Lamar (+330), Beyonce (+330), R. Kelly (+450) and Justin Timberlake (+450).
Any mention of Donald Trump by Lady Gaga would pay “Yes” President Trump will be mentioned bettors -140 on their wagers, while the “No” side of the prop would pay +100.
Due to the frantic finish of Super Bowl XLVII, there was no Gatorade bath for John Harbaugh in Baltimore’s win over San Francisco. Orange has been the dominant color of the Gatorade in recent years with four of the last six Super Bowls featuring a bath coming in that color.
One notable exception would be New England’s win in Super Bowl XLIX, in which Bill Belichick received a blue Gatorade shower. “Clear/Water”, “Lime/Green”, “Yellow” and “Orange” are co-favorites this year at +300 each, with “Red” paying +600 and “Blue” paying +750.
