Coming off a 30-27 road loss to the Washington State Cougars, the Trojans got just what the doctor ordered in a home game against the lowly Oregon State Beavers last Saturday. USC failed to cover the spread as 32-point favorites but did manage to roll to an uneventful 38-10 win, the team’s first win by more than 10 points since its season opener against Western Michigan.
With this week’s test against Utah and a road game next week against Notre Dame, the Trojans are hoping that blowout win puts them back on track after a shaky first half.

Utah Utes
Utah cracked the AP Top 25 with a 4-0 SU and ATS start to the season, but its stay there was short-lived after a 23-20 home loss to the Stanford Cardinal last Saturday.
The Utes have won two of their last three games against the Trojans, but both of those wins came at home. The team is 6-3 SU and 8-1 ATS in its last nine games as a road underdog and 8-1 SU and ATS in its last nine games played in Week 7.

USC came into the season as one of the top favorites to win the national championship, and the Trojans still control their own destiny in the Pac-12. But this team has not looked sharp over its 5-1 start, enduring a number of close calls and going just 1-5 ATS. The Trojans will need their best effort this Saturday against a deceptively good Utah team that could pounce if USC plays another sloppy game.
