Oklahoma State Cowboys
The normally high-octane offense of the Cowboys mustered up only 13 points last Saturday against Texas, but it was enough to come away with a 13-10 overtime win against the Longhorns to keep the team’s Big 12 championship hopes alive.
For a team best known for an elite offense that ranks best in the nation in yards per game with 585 and third in scoring with 43.7 points per game, it was another strong performance for a defense that had allowed only 16 points the week before against Baylor.
This will be Oklahoma State’s final game in the month of October. The Cowboys are 10-0 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games played in October, per the OddsShark College Football Database.
West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia won the game 38-36 but failed to cover as 10-point road favorites at Baylor last week, bringing its record to 5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS on the season. Both of the Mountaineers’ losses have come against excellent teams in No. 4 TCU and No. 13 Virginia Tech by identical scores of 31-24. The Mountaineers are still looking for their first signature win of the season though and could earn it at home where they are 12-1 over their last 13 games.
Saturday’s total is set at 73 points. The UNDER is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams.
While a win in this game might mean more for Oklahoma State given the potential of a playoff spot as a one-loss team, both of these teams still control their own destinies in the Big 12. The loser of this game will likely fall out of contention for a spot in the Big 12 title game, while the winner will stay right in the thick of the race.
