Wisconsin’s a touchdown favorite over Michigan in Week 12’s biggest (by far) game

The Wisconsin Badgers will be looking to stay hot against the Michigan Wolverines at home this Saturday as clear betting favorites at the sportsbooks.

The No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers are 4-3 straight up in their last seven games against Michigan and 8-1-1 against the spread in their last 10 games in this series. The Badgers hope this trend will continue Saturday afternoon when they host the No. 24 Wolverines in a week when the rest of the top 10 plays FCS teams or lesser conference opponents.

Wisconsin is a 7.5-point home favorite in Madison at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. When these two teams met last season in Michigan, the Wolverines won 14-7 as 12-point home favorites.

Wisconsin Badgers

With last Saturday’s 38-14 win over Iowa, the Badgers moved to 10-0 SU and 6-4 ATS on the season with their fourth straight win by at least 14 points. Wisconsin has been the beneficiary of an extremely soft schedule this season, but the Badgers have done all that they can to prove that they are still deserving of a College Football Playoff spot with an average margin of victory of 22.9 points per game.

Facing one of the best defenses in the nation this Saturday, the Badgers and star running back Jonathan Taylor will have the chance to make a statement.

The Badgers are 9-0 SU in their last nine games at home. Wisconsin is also 7-0 SU and 6-0-1 ATS in its last seven games played in the month of November, per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Michigan Wolverines

At 8-2 SU and 4-5-1 ATS, this season has been a disappointment for a Michigan team that had its eyes set on a College Football Playoff spot coming into the season ranked No. 11.

Games against undefeated Wisconsin this week and at home against Ohio State next week do give the Wolverines a shot to end their regular season on a high note, however. Since being blown out 42-13 by Penn State in October, Michigan is 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS over its last three games and averaging 34.3 points per game over that stretch.

Saturday’s total is set at 41 points. The OVER is 9-2 in Wisconsin’s last 11 games against Big Ten opponents.

This game will give college football fans and bettors a better indication of how good Wisconsin really is. Both defenses have played at an elite level this season and this one could just come down to which quarterback is able to avoid mistakes and make bigger plays.
