Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs didn’t seem to lose any momentum coming off their blowout loss to Auburn, bouncing back with a 42-13 win at home over Kentucky and then a 38-7 road win over Georgia Tech.
Georgia finished the regular season averaging 35.5 points per game on offense while ranking fifth in scoring defense allowing only 13.8 points per game. Freshman quarterback Jake Fromm had his lowest completion percentage of the year against Auburn at 46.4% on 13-of-28 passing.
In their last four games coming off a loss in the previous game of a matchup, the Bulldogs are a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS.
Auburn Tigers
No team in the country right now looks better than the Auburn Tigers, who are 5-0 SU and 3-1-1 ATS since their loss to LSU with double-digit wins over both Georgia and Alabama. Those two wins came at home however, and the Tigers will now need to prove that they can get the job done at a neutral location as well.
Before picking up their win over the Bulldogs this season, the Tigers were 2-9 SU and 3-8 ATS in their previous 11 games against Georgia, according to the OddsShark College Football Database.
Saturday’s total is set at 49 points. The OVER is 7-2 in Auburn’s last nine games.
The winner of the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn has gone on to represent the SEC West seven times in the last eight years and has won the SEC championship in all seven of those games. Both Georgia and Auburn pass the eye test as legitimate College Football Playoff contenders, but only the winner of this game will advance. With this game happening just three weeks after Auburn blew Georgia out, 40-17, bettors will have to decide how much weight to put into that game before betting this one.
