Army Black Knights vs. Navy Midshipmen
When: Saturday, Dec. 9, 3 p.m. ET
Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia
Betting Line / Total: Navy -3 / 46 Points
Army Black Knights
The Black Knights have seemingly turned their football program around under head coach Jeff Monken. Army enjoyed its first eight-win season since 1996 in Monken’s third year last season and has followed that up with another eight-win campaign with an 8-3 SU and 5-6 ATS record so far in 2017.
The squad edged out Navy for the top spot in the nation in rushing this season racking up 368.1 rushing yards per game while finishing dead last in passing with a paltry 30.5 yards per game.
In their last 25 games against teams in the American Athletic Conference the Black Knights are just 4-21 SU and 7-18 ATS per the OddsShark College Football Database.
Navy Midshipmen
Navy kicked off its season with an impressive 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS run before going on to lose five of its last six games. But despite the disappointing straight up record over that stretch, the Midshipmen went 3-2-1 ATS to enter this game with a 6-5 SU and 6-4-1 ATS record.
The Midshipmen passed for just under three times more yards than Army with 91.2 passing yards per game and still finished 128th in the country in that category.
Saturday’s total is set at 46 points. The UNDER has been an excellent wager in this series with an 11-0 record in the last 11 games between Army and Navy.
The Commander in Chief] Trophy and the pride that goes along with winning it will be on the line this Saturday. Both of these teams run option attacks and know each other very well, setting the stage for an interesting chess match between these two rivals.
