UFC 208 odds: Holm an underdog vs. de Randamie on betting lines for main event

After losing each of her last two fights, Holly Holm will try to get a win over Germaine de Randamie in Brooklyn on Saturday as an underdog on the UFC 208 betting lines.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Holly Holm went 0-2 in 2016 with losses to Miesha Tate and Valentina Shevchenko. Holm will try to start off 2017 on the right foot with a win over Germaine de Randamie in the main event at UFC 208 at the Barclays Center this Saturday.

Holm is a +105 underdog in Brooklyn at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This fight will be the only title fight on the card as Holm and de Randamie clash for the inaugural women’s featherweight title.

Holm surged into the national spotlight when she defeated the previously undefeated Ronda Rousey and improved to 10-0 as a professional. But since then, Holm has yet to taste victory again.

A win won’t come easy against de Randamie, who is a -135 favorite to win this title fight. Since losing to Amanda Nunes back in 2013, de Randamie has bounced back well with wins over Larissa Pacheco and Anna Elmose.

Like Holm, de Randamie is at her best as a striker, and both fighters will be happy to keep this fight off the mat. The power edge goes to de Randamie, but stamina could be a factor if the fight goes the distance as the favorite has never fought in a five-round bout.

Anderson Silva was once one of the most dominant fighters in all of MMA, stringing together 17 straight wins from 2006 to 2012. Age and injuries have caught up to Silva however as the 41-year-old has lost four of his last five fights and had his one win over Nate Diaz over that stretch retroactively graded a no contest after failing a drug test.

Silva is a +125 underdog on Saturday against Derek Brunson (-155). Brunson is a dangerous striker who just had a five-fight winning streak snapped in a knockout loss to Robert Whittaker in his last bout.

Other fights on the UFC 208 card include Ronaldo Souza (-550) vs. Tim Boetsch (+375), Glover Teixeira (-210) vs. Jared Cannonier (+170), Dustin Poirier (-450) vs. Jim Miller (+325) and Wilson Reis (-600) vs. Ulka Sasaki (+400).

Souza has won nine of his last 10 fights, and the one loss in that stretch was a controversial split decision against Yoel Romero.
