Premier League 2017 odds: Chelsea among betting favorites on opening EPL weekend
Chelsea will kick off the Premier League season with a favorable spot at home against Burnley, while Manchester City is road chalk against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The home club is a -500 favorite to win the match at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Chelsea should have no trouble dispatching of its opening opponent on Saturday as Burnley is going off at +1300 to win this game outright and +500 to force a draw. The Blues are 4-0-2 in their last six games against Burnley.
Tottenham Hotspur
Last year’s runner-up on the EPL table, Tottenham Hotspur, will begin the year on the road when it visits Newcastle United this Sunday. Tottenham is a -150 favorite to win the game outright, with Newcastle paying +400 on a win and +290 on a draw.
The Spurs had the best goal differential in the English Premier League last season at +60 but fell short of Chelsea by seven points with a 26-4-8 record. Tottenham and Chelsea will both use this week’s games as tune-ups for their clash Aug. 20 at Tottenham.
Manchester City also begins the season on the road, though as a big favorite at -325 facing Brighton and Hove Albion. Brighton will be making its Premier League debut after earning its spot with a 93-point performance in the EFL Championship last season.
The Premier League rookies will get a trial by fire against one of the league’s best clubs on Saturday and are going off at +950 to win and +400 to play to a draw.

EPL top goalscorer
One of the most popular prop bets heading into every English Premier League season is the top goalscorer bet. Can anyone in the league catch Harry Kane? The 24-year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward was the league’s top scorer in 2015-16 with 25 goals, and he followed up that performance with 29 goals and another scoring title in 2016-17.
Kane is a +275 favorite to become the first player to win top goalscorer three times in a row since Thierry Henry did it for Arsenal in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Other top goalscorer contenders include Romelu Lukaku (+400), Sergio Aguero (+550), Gabriel Jesus (+800), Diego Costa (+1000), Alvaro Morata (+1000), Alexandre Lacazette (+1100), and Alexis Sanchez (+1200).
