Rumors that Conor McGregor was having trouble making weight for Saturday’s fight against Floyd Mayweather were put to rest on Friday. McGregor came in comfortably under the weight limit of 155 pounds when he weighed in at 154 on the day before the bout.

With both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor making weight on Friday, Saturday’s super fight is on – inspiring a large number of odds and props at the sportsbooks.


Betting odds on Mayweather vs. McGregor have fluctuated drastically in the days leading up to the fight, with McGregor going off as a +325 underdog to defeat Mayweather at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Mayweather (-450) looked to be in excellent shape and weighed in at 149.5 pounds. With his successful weigh-in already achieved, McGregor will now look to rehydrate and pack on some weight before the fight.
McGregor has stated that he expects to weigh around 170 pounds on the day of the fight. Even a more modest gain to 160 will give the MMA star a clear weight advantage in a fight in which he already owns the height advantage (by one inch) and the reach advantage (by two inches).
These advantages, along with McGregor’s age and superstar status in the UFC, have prompted an estimated 90% of the betting public to take a shot on the underdog.
The Westgate Las Vegas Sportsbook reports that while 92% of the tickets it has accepted have been bets on McGregor with an average ticket price of $216, much bigger money has come in on those backing Mayweather with an average ticket price of $8,138.
Earlier this week, two separate bets of $1.2 million and $1 million were reported to have come in on Mayweather.
Bettors looking for less chalk on a Mayweather bet have been hammering Mayweather to win the fight by KO, TKO or DQ. That Mayweather vs. McGregor prop wager was going for as low as -125 a week ago, but it has now ballooned up to -185.
Mayweather hasn’t scored a knockout since 2011 against Victor Ortiz, winning each of his last seven fights by decision. Betting on this fight to go to the cards and go Mayweather’s way by decision would pay +285.
