The New England Patriots wrapped up the 2016 season with a Super Bowl victory and 17-2 straight up and 16-3 against the spread records. The Patriots will try to put together another dominant season this year, starting on Thursday night at home against the Kansas City Chiefs.

New England is a nine-point home favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com against the Chiefs in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game. Kansas City lost that game, 27-20, as a six-point underdog in New England.

The Oakland Raiders might have been in that AFC Championship Game if not for a late-season injury to star quarterback Derek Carr. Both Carr and Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota went down with season-ending leg injuries in Week 16, but both are now back healthy and set to help lead their teams in another step forward. Tennessee hosts Oakland as a 1.5-point favorite on Sunday.

NFL Week 1 Odds (see the complete list at OddsShark)

Kansas City at New England (-9)

Atlanta (-7) at Chicago

New York Giants at Dallas (-3.5)

New Orleans at Minnesota (-3.5)

Los Angeles Chargers at Denver (-3.5)

Seattle at Green Bay (-3)

Baltimore at Cincinnati (-3)

Oakland at Tennessee (-1.5)

Sunday’s card is also loaded with some intriguing rivalry games including Seattle at Green Bay (-3), Baltimore at Cincinnati (-3), and a Sunday Night Football matchup of the New York Giants at Dallas (-3.5).

Seattle and Green Bay may not be in the same division, but the two teams have formed a rivalry in recent years with some intense games in important situations. The home team is 6-0 SU and 5-1 ATS in the last six games between these two teams, per the OddsShark NFL Database.

Dallas ran away with the NFC East last season with a 12-4 SU and 10-5-1 ATS record, but New York came on strong at the end of the year with an 8-3 SU and ATS run to end the regular season. The Cowboys are the favorite to win the division again this year, but this game could set the tempo for this race in 2017.

Monday night will feature a doubleheader of New Orleans at Minnesota (-3.5) and the Los Angeles Chargers at Denver (-3.5). Denver has won each of its last four home games against the Chargers.
