MLS 2018 odds: Galaxy highlight week betting slate as home favorite vs. Kansas City

The Los Angeles Galaxy will try to follow up last weekend’s exciting win with another on Sunday as they take on Sporting Kansas City as chalk at the sportsbooks.

The Los Angeles Galaxy are off to a 2-1-1 start to the 2018 season. The Galaxy will try to defeat the top team in the Western Conference this Sunday night when they host Sporting Kansas City.

Los Angeles is a +115 home favorite in Carson at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Sporting Kansas City is going off at +235 to win on the road and +240 to force a draw.

The Galaxy had a match for the ages last week, erasing a 3-0 deficit at home to earn a 4-3 result over the Los Angeles FC in the first LA Derby between these newly minted rivals. Zlaten Ibrahimovic entered the match in the 71st minute to make his Galaxy debut and recorded both the game-tying goal and the game-winning goal in the match. Ibrahimovic will clearly be an impact player for the Galaxy, fourth on the 2018 MLS Cup odds at +900, moving forward.

There have been no shortage of fireworks through Sporting KC’s first five games as the club has scored 10 goals while surrendering nine. Since losing its season opener to the New York City FC, Kansas City is unbeaten with a record of 3-0-1 over its last four games. NYC FC also handed the Galaxy their only loss of the season.

The Los Angeles FC (+390 to win, +355 to draw) will try to bounce back from their stunning road loss last week in another tough road environment visiting Atlanta United on Saturday. Atlanta (-175) has won each of its last three games since losing its season opener and has gone 13-2-3 in its last 18 games at home.

Another team with excellent home pitch advantage will be in action on Saturday when the New England Revolution (-135) host the Montreal Impact (+345 to win, +275 to draw). New England hasn’t lost any of its last 10 games at home boasting an 8-0-2 record over that stretch at Gillette Stadium. The Revolution are 2-0-1 over their last three games.

The Portland Timbers (+220 to win, +255 to draw) are still looking for their first win of the season at 0-2-2. They’ll face Orlando City (+120) in Orlando this Saturday. Portland won 3-0 when these two clubs met last season in Portland, but lost 4-1 in its last trip to Orlando back in 2016.
