MLS odds 2018: Weekend betting lines include Atlanta United favored over the Red Bulls

Atlanta United will try to build on the best record in the MLS with another win this weekend when they take on the New York Red Bulls as betting chalk at the sportsbooks.

Atlanta United bounced back from its second loss of the season with an impressive 2-1 road win over Orlando City last Sunday. With that win, Atlanta United improved to an MLS-best 8-1-2 on the season, and will look to continue its success this Sunday at home against the New York Red Bulls

The club is going off as a -140 home favorite in Atlanta at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com over New York (+335 to win, +290 to force a draw). Since joining the MLS last year, Atlanta United has quickly emerged as one of the best bets in the league on their home pitch. Atlanta is 14-4-2 over its last 20 home games including a record of 4-1-1 so far in 2018.

The Red Bulls have won each of their last three games since starting off the 2018 campaign with a 3-0-3 record. There could be plenty of fireworks in this one as the league’s top two offensive teams collide. The total is set at three goals with the OVER going off as a -130 favorite.

Something will have to give when two of the Western Conference’s top teams clash this Saturday. The Portland Timbers are +105 favorites at home against Los Angeles FC (+250 to win, +260 to draw).

LAFC, up to +800 on the odds to win the MLS Cup, returns to the road after playing each of its last four matches at home, improving to 6-2-2 on the season and 4-2-0 over its last six.

Portland will try to stay hot at home, where the Timbers are a perfect 3-0 this season. Since starting the 2018 season off with an 0-2-3 record, Portland has won each of its last four games.

Both Los Angeles FC and Portland are chasing first-place Sporting Kansas City in the standings. Kansas City has the best record in the West at 7-2-2 and will face a road test as +110 favorites this Sunday against Minnesota United (+240 to win, +250 to draw). Minnesota is 4-0-7 this year and 2-0-6 in its last eight games.

The Columbus Crew enter the weekend in second place in the East and will also face a road test as they take on the New England Revolution. New England is a +120 home favorite over the Crew (+215 to win, +265 to draw).
