UFC 225 odds: Whittaker vs. Romero betting preview, main card analysis for Saturday

Robert Whittaker has won each of his last eight fights, including a victory over Yoel Romero at UFC 213 to win the interim UFC Middleweight Championship. The now undisputed champion will defend his title against Romero in a rematch Saturday night at UFC 225.

Whittaker is a -240 favorite on the UFC 225 odds to retain his title in Chicago at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The middleweight has found his groove since moving up in weight from the welterweight class going 7-0 in seven fights as a middleweight since starting his professional career off with a 12-4 record.

Yoel Romero failed to make weight for his middleweight title fight against Luke Rockhold making him ineligible to win the title in the victory. Romero will get another shot at the title on Saturday after having an eight-fight winning streak snapped in his last bout against Whittaker. The 13-2 middleweight is a +190 underdog in this event.

In one of the most even matchups on the card, Rafael Dos Anjos is a slight favorite at -120 going up against Colby Covington at -110. Dos Anjos has enjoyed success as a welterweight winning each of his last three fights since losing his previous two fights as a lightweight.

Covington’s career is off to a 13-1 start, and the 30-year-old will try to add to a five-fight winning streak on Saturday.

Since improving to 10-0 as a professional with her stunning upset over Ronda Rousey, Holly Holm has been on a tailspin with losses in four of her last five fights. The former champion will try to get back on track as a -230 favorite this Saturday against Megan Anderson (+180).

Anderson is making her UFC debut with an 8-2 record as a professional and four straight wins in the Invicta FC.

Rounding out the main card are Tai Tuivasa (-275) vs. Andrei Arlovski (+215) and Mike Jackson (-225) vs. CM Punk (+175). CM Punk, the former WWE superstar, suffered a first-round submission loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203 back in 2016. He will look for a better result in his much-anticipated return to the octagon.
