Since losing its first road game of the season, Atlanta United is unbeaten in its last five games away from home with a record of 4-1-0. Atlanta will try to cash in as an underdog this Saturday when they visit the New York City FC.
MLS odds 2018: New York City FC, Columbus among betting favorites on weekend slate
The top two teams in the East collide Saturday when Atlanta United visits New York City FC in one of the marquee MLS betting matchups on the schedule this weekend.

Atlanta United is a +215 road underdog in New York at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Through the first 14 games of the 2018 MLS season, Atlanta owns the best record in the league at 9-2-3 and has scored the most goals in the MLS as well with 30. When Atlanta United hosted New York City earlier this season, the two clubs played to a 2-2 draw.
New York City FC (+110 to win, +275 to draw) has fallen out of the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings due to a 1-2-2 slump over the club’s last five games. But with only two games separating New York City from Atlanta on the table, a win at home on Saturday would allow New York to jump Atlanta back into first place in the East.
New York City is 4-0 at home this season with 11 goals scored and only two conceded.
Sitting right behind New York FC and Atlanta United on the table in the Eastern Conference are the Columbus Crew in third place with a 7-5-3 record and the New York Red Bulls in fourth at 7-1-4. Those two teams also meet on the pitch this Saturday with Columbus going off as a +100 home favorite over the Red Bulls (+260 to win, +260 to draw).
These two teams have an intriguing contrast in styles. Columbus leads the MLS in goals against average allowing only 0.87 goals per game. New York meanwhile leads the league in offensive production with 2.25 goals per game. Something will have to give on Saturday.
Out West, the top team in the conference will get a tough road test as Sporting Kansas City (+210 to win, +235 to draw) visits the Portland Timbers (+130). Kansas City has the best goal differential in the MLS at +14 and the best record in the West at 8-4-2. Portland is unbeaten in its last seven games with a record of 6-1-0.
