Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are the only two active players in the NFL that have won the NFL MVP Award multiple times, with Rodgers entering 2018 as a two-time winner and Brady coming in as a three-time winner. The two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks top the betting board as this year’s favorites on the 2018 NFL MVP odds.
NFL MVP 2018 odds: Rodgers ahead of Brady, Wentz on betting prop for upcoming season
Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady will look to add to their legacies with another NFL MVP award in 2018, while Carson Wentz is also in the picture at the sportsbooks.

Rodgers is a +550 favorite to win his third NFL MVP Award at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Green Bay Packers picked up a pair of pass-catching tight ends in Jimmy Graham and Marcedes Lewis this offseason that should allow Rodgers to flourish in the red zone. After missing all but seven games last season due to a broken collarbone, Rodgers is back to 100% and is a deserving favorite to win this award.
Tom Brady won the NFL MVP Award last year and is going off at +800 to win it again in 2018. Brady hasn’t missed a game due to injury since 2008 and is a virtual lock for over 4,000 passing yards and 30 passing touchdowns every year. Bettors may go a different direction if another quarterback has a tremendous season, but at 8-to-1 you could do a lot worse than the most consistent superstar in the game.
Brady is also the +400 favorite on the odds to lead the NFL in passing yards this season.
Carson Wentz (+850 to win NFL MVP) probably would have won the award last year had he not gone down with an injury. Wentz passed for 3,296 yards, 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 13 games in 2017; he could have easily gone over 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in a complete season. Another season of this caliber coming off of a major injury would put Wentz firmly in the MVP conversation in 2018.
Other contenders to win the award this season include Drew Brees (+1500), Jimmy Garoppolo (+1500), Russell Wilson (+2000), 2015 winner Cam Newton (+2000), Deshaun Watson (+2000), 2016 winner Matt Ryan (+2200) and Kirk Cousins (+2200). Garoppolo and Watson showed tremendous potential in small sample sizes last year.
Since 2006, 10 of the last 11 NFL MVP awards have been won by quarterbacks and have had no running backs finish in the top three in voting. Bettors thinking that this will be the year that this trend gets bucked can find Le’Veon Bell and Todd Gurley each going off at +4000.
