UFC 227 odds: Garbrandt eyes revenge against Dillashaw as small betting underdog

Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw clash in a rematch of their bantamweight title fight from 2017 in one of the bouts on the UFC 227 betting card for Saturday night.

Cody Garbrandt had his perfect 11-0 record as a professional snapped when he lost to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 217. The 27-year-old will try to win his UFC Bantamweight Championship back this Saturday when he faces Dillashaw again in the main event of UFC 227 in Los Angeles, California.

Unlike many title fights that have a clear favorite, this one is pretty evenly matched on paper with Garbrandt going off as a slight underdog at -110 on the UFC 227 odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Garbrandt improved to 11-0 as a professional and to 6-0 in the UFC when he defeated Dominick Cruz at UFC 207 for the title. The title reign didn’t last long though a Dillashaw knocked out the former champion in the second round. Nine months later, he gets his shot at revenge.

Dillashaw is a -120 favorite to retain his title on Saturday. The 32-year-old bounced back nicely from his title fight loss against Dominick Cruz back in January of 2016, winning each of his last three fights including his KO victory over Garbrandt.

These two fighters are very close in the rankings, but another victory for Dillashaw, especially in the convincing fashion the last one came in, would establish the bantamweight title holder as a clear step above.

Demetrious Johnson is one of the most dominant champions in the history of the UFC. Since dropping down to flyweight, Johnson has never lost, picking up a draw in his first fight as a flyweight back in 2012 and then going a perfect 13-0 since. Of those 13 wins, 11 have been in title defenses, and his win over Ray Borg at UFC 216 gave him the record for most successful title defenses in UFC history.

Johnson is a -500 favorite on Saturday facing Henry Cejudo (+350). The last time these two fighters met at UFC 197, Johnson earned a TKO victory in the first round.

Leading up to the two title fights at the end of the card are Renato Moicano (-375) vs. Cub Swanson (+285), Polyana Viana (-225) vs. J.J. Aldrich (+175), and Thiago Santos (-375) vs. Kevin Holland (+285). Cub Swanson has lost each of his last two fights since winning his previous four.
