Now that the dust has settled a bit ...

What is holding men's soccer back in the United States? The "Golden Generation" as it were got off to a promising start at the World Cup but absolutely underwhelmed in the Round of 16 against Belgium.

So ... what is missing? Is it something at the developmental level? Something at the collegiate level? Something else entirely?
