    Inter Milan 4-3 Tottenham Hotspur: Gareth Bale Hat-trick Pulls Spurs Within One

    Gareth bale has given the footballing world pause, let alone the suddenly nervous crowd at the San Siro. Now in the 92nd minute in Milan, Bale has scored goals in the 90th and 91st minutes to bring visiting Tottenham, down 4-0 at half, to within another Bale shot of a draw.

    Bale’s 90th minute tally was strangely similar to his first goal – a direct charge down the left, finished far post past Julio César. Once minute later, a Internazionale turnover in their own half saw Aaron Lennon penetrate into the box, draw defenders to him before laying-off for Bale’s third goal. As was the case with the preceding two, the shot beat Cesar far post.

    Gareth Bale is not giving up on Spurs’ match in Milan, if his 52nd minute effort is any indication.

    Benfica, already down at goal at Stade Gerland, are now down a man, Nicolas Gaitan picking-up his second yellow card for a challenge on Lyon’s Anthony Revelliere.

    The Eagles midfielder picked-up his first yellow in the 34th minute for a poor challenge on Jimmy Briand. Now tracking back against defender Revelliere, the Argentine earned his second booking.

    Barcelona is on the scoresheet early at the Nou Camp, with Lionel Messi’s left-footed strike from 20 yards banging in off the left post, giving the Blaugrana a 1-0 lead.

    The ball was laid-off from the area’s edge, with the Argentine superstar running-on from midfield. The ball, coming ever-so-slightly off the outside of this left foot, curled onto the post, ricocheting in for the host’s first goal.
