From a corner to the left of goal, Edu went toward the back post on a ball played to six yards out. Edu remarkably leaped above César’s outstretched arms, putting Rangers ahead, paying the price in the process.
Edu fall to ground after his collision with César and needed treatment on the pitch. After a couple of minute, Edu got up and slowly walked off the field. After a few moments spent collected himself, a smile finally broke across the midfielders face, apparently realizing his name had been added to the short list of United States players to have scored in Champions League.
