Raúl Gonzalez has had a sleepy start to his Schalke career. In fact, the Spanish legend’s arrival in Gelsenkirchen has since been overshadowed by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, remarkable considering the Dutch striker is on his fourth star in as many seasons. Schalke 2-0 Hapoel Tel Aviv: Second Raul Goal Has Schalke On-Track For Three
Following-up on his first half goal, Raúl has given Schalke 04 a 2-0 lead, scoring in the 58th minute of the Blues’ match with Hapoel Tel Aviv, putting last year’s Bundesliga runners-up on track for six points and second place in Group B.
Benfica, also entering today’s matches with three points in Group B play, currently trails group-leading Lyon, 2-0 at the Stade Gerland.
Schalke has struggled in Germany, sitting 16th after eight rounds. That form has not carried over to UEFA Champions League, where Felix Magath’s team is on-track for their second victory in two matches.
